Your privacy
What the SeaDream II guest Wi-Fi signup and billing system collects, why, and for how long.
What this system uses, and why
Your name and stateroom — typed at signup and matched
against the voyage's guest list, so Wi-Fi charges go to the right
stateroom account and included allowances go to the right guest.
Your device's network address (MAC) — provided by the
ship's Wi-Fi system; it is how your device is recognised and allowed
online.
Your email — only if you choose to enter it, only for
your receipt. News-and-offers email is a separate, unticked checkbox and
entirely optional.
Purchases and adjustments — kept as a billing ledger so
your onboard account is correct and disputes can be resolved.
What this system doesn't do
We do not sell your details, and this system never emails you marketing
unless you ticked the separate consent box (you can unsubscribe at any
time). You may still hear from SeaDream Yacht Club if you have shared
your details with us in other ways — for example when booking your
voyage — under SeaDream's general privacy practices, not this notice.
We do not routinely monitor or read the content of your internet
traffic. Technical connection records (such as device identifiers,
connection times and data volumes) are used to operate, secure and
troubleshoot the service, as described in the
Terms of Service, which govern how
the network is run.
How long this system keeps things
Wi-Fi purchase records (purchases, credits, receipts, your acceptance of
the terms): 24 months after the voyage, for billing
disputes.
Device network addresses: replaced with anonymous codes
90 days after the voyage.
The voyage guest list: removed 30 days after the voyage
(your billing record keeps only the name and stateroom it was made with).
Marketing consent: until you withdraw it.
Charges posted to your stateroom account also appear in SeaDream's
accounting records, which are kept under SeaDream's own bookkeeping and
legal requirements — those may run longer than the periods above.
Questions or requests
Speak to the Concierge on board — including if you'd like your details corrected or removed. Anything the ship can't resolve on the spot is passed to our shore team.
